Laser hair removal is a safe treatment as long as it is carried out in the right hands. However like any laser or cosmetic treatment risks of side effects are possible and vary with skin type, hair color, treatment plan and adherence to pre-treatment and post-treatment care. The most common side effects of laser hair removal include:

  • Skin irritation. Temporary redness and swelling are possible after a laser hair removal session. Any signs and symptoms typically disappear within several hours.
  • Pigment changes. Laser hair removal might darken or lighten the affected skin, usually temporarily. Skin lightening primarily affects those who don’t avoid sun exposure before or after treatment and those who have darker skin. Wearing a high factor sun block is an essential part of the treatment to avoid pigment changes.During your consultation the risks are explained to you, but we find that most patients experince no risk what so ever as long as they follow the after care procedures that are explained to you.
